In the year 2011, the company became the sixth largest car maker and also the sixteenth biggest company all over the world in terms of production output.  The corporation is part of Mitsubishi Keiretsu, originally the largest industrial group within Japan and was created in the year 1970 coming from the automotive department of the Mitsubishi heavy industries.
